The car is in pretty good shape overall but the front bumper has some nasty stone chips and scratches from highway driving, the hood has a few patches where the clear coat is starting to fail, and there's a scrape on the rear quarter panel from someone backing into me in a parking lot that's been bugging me for months. I initially thought I'd just get those specific panels repainted and be done with it, but a friend told me that matching the paint on older cars is really tricky and that a partial respray often ends up looking uneven because the new paint doesn't fade at the same rate as the original paint that's been exposed to the sun for years.
